Zion National Park Accommodations, Hotels, Vacation Rentals & Lodging

Climbing the Cave Crack, or as I call it, Clint Eastwood’s Crack, as he was shown climbing it in The Eiger Sanction. I scrambled up class 3 climbing to reach the cave then went through the cave to set up a top rope on the other end of it above the cave crack. This was mid-June and we were the only ones out there. Route was shaded the whole time.

This climb is directly across the street from the Big Bend stop on the free shuttle. You can see the cave on the cliff side on the right side of the road as the bus approaches the stop. Walk back up the street the way the bus came from 100ft and head up a well worn climber's trail to the cliff base. Once below the cave follow the cliff base around the corner on loose, steep gravel. Once around the corner scramble up loose steep scree, it becomes more solid as you get higher. Video starts there.
