Sorry to be just getting back to you. I believe best footwear are hiking shoes with good ankle support and "grippy" rubber soles for comfort and to minimize injury and slipping on rocks when hiking the narrows. Have fun!

My GF her son hiked that today, kicked our asses but it was fun, water goes as deep as your waist on a few occasions, you find deep pools that you can swim about 1.5 maybe 2 hours into your hike.Next time I'll bring an extra paid of shoes 😀 Beautiful place.

@MrKyvegas00 There are a few waist and chest deep areas that are there every time we've hiked the Narrows, and depending how significant the annual spring flooding is there can be a few spots that may vary from shin deep to chest deep from one year to the next.

@thinknblink Thanks for the comment, glad you were able to experience this amazing hike! My friends, family and I have done the Narrows hike many times and look forward to our next trip to Zion this summer.
