This area is home of the famous WAVE. It is located in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument.
If you are one of the lucky people to win the lottery and get a permit to North Coyote Buttes, you will be blessed to see an area that thousands of people a year, try to visit. The geology and colors throughout the area are some of the greatest places to take photos, and see sights that very few get to explore.
Due to the nature of the area, and the importance to keep it preserved for future generations, the BLM has restricted this area to only 20 permit’s a day.
Guided hikes to the WAVE, are the safest way to explore and photograph the area while not worrying about finding your way there. It is a very remote area, and is not an easy hike. This hike has very delicate areas, and the guides will show you the best ways to keep safe, while respecting all of the important history found and geological formations in the area.

This area will require about one gallon of water per person during the summer times.
This is overall a Moderate/Hard hike with uphill grades, sandy and rocky areas combined.
About 6.5 miles round trip to the WAVE and back. Additional hiking in the area can be discussed with your tour guide and will depend on your ability to hike further. Overnight camping is NOT available.
