Zion National Park Accommodations, Hotels, Vacation Rentals & Lodging

Exploring a secret waterfall oasis with new friends in Zion National Park in Utah.

A teacher from Texas, a waffle maker from Georgia, an oilman in Australia and two college chicks from Carolina meet in paradise and find the perfect place to cool down after a long morning hiking Angels Landing.

I flew into Las Vegas 2 days before to begin a 4 day journey through Utah’s amazing landscapes and National Parks. I stopped in Zion overnight for a few hours of sleep the first day, but headed straight through the Dixie National Forest into the hoodoo filled Bryce Canyon. After hiking the Navajo Loop and Queens Garden, I drove back through the Red Rock Canyons, the lush alpine fields and winding rushing rivers of Dixie and Southern Utah.

Pulled over on some BLM land to camp for the night before hitting Angels Landing in the early AM. While at the summit, sitting on an exposed but distant rock ledge, I met some of the coolest explorers Ive ever known. We decided to try to find this Pine Creek despite the dry riverbed and flood plains, but eventually stumbled upon our paradise. Here are some highlights from our adventure.
