This year’s Zion National Park large format landscape photography trip lasted 10 amazing days, during which I was able to experience the park in new ways. Thunderstorms poured torrential rains on the park, filling the washes with flowing water and turning them into mountain streams for days, graced with ephemeral waterfalls that were there one moment and gone the next. Alan Brock took fellow large format landscape photographers Ben Horne, Marty Quinn and I up in his Cessna airplane to fly around the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park, in addition to many other American Southwestern icons such as Buckskin Gulch, Coyote Gulch, Vermillion Cliffs, The Wave, Bryce Canyon, and others. I had the opportunity to meet several of you from around the world, and to spend time with several landscape photographers and YouTubers as well. Overall, it was a resoundingly successful trip, and I can hardly wait to share it with you over the a series of several videos!

I have no idea which day this is…maybe 5. It was a long time spent in Zion last year! I exposed 12 sheets of film on this day on 5 different subjects. This makes the most film I’ve ever burned through in a single day. It was a busy but really fun day! Most of the shots were pretty laid back and actually didn’t even require any extended, difficult hiking. That’s the amazing part about Zion National Park. You can exert as much or as little energy as you want and still find some great subjects. Thanks for following along, and I hope you enjoy! Book Today & Save on Zion National Park Vacation Rentals

In this last episode of the trip I remain in Zion National Park and use my 4×5 large format view camera to photograph the amazing Fall colors in the main canyon and the east side washes of the upper plateau.
