This is one of the first trails you will come across when you enter the park. It’s a fun, short trail that will get you some spectacular views. At only .7 miles, and a mere 101 feet of ascent, it’s a great warmup. Best time of day is in the morning hours so the sun lights up the entire overlook.

Death Valley is a desert located in Eastern California and it is one of the hottest places in the world. Monument Valley is located on the Arizona–Utah border within the territory of the Navajo Nation Reservation. Its 5 square miles (13 square kilometers) have defined what decades of moviegoers think of when they imagine the American West.

This video is a time-lapse from a recent trip across the country, from Los Angeles to Baltimore and then through to Canada. We start at our place in Los Angles and then take a very bizarre course across the country. We are husband and wife and both artists. We did a lot of sight seeing, a lot of exploring, and a little bit of camping. You may notice that we are often just going off road or taking random turns, as we are always looking for places to photograph and film. Sometimes we were just looking for a place to camp. One day happened to be a national holiday, and we didn’t even realize it. On that day, you’ll see us all over the place looking for a camp spot. Every single spot at every camp ground was taken, so we ended up with the bear hunters on the side of a dirt road.
You may notice that we went through Sedona and then went back after the Grand Canyon; we had to take he dog to the vet for a foot infection.
We did this trip in a 20 year old Lexus RX300. Husband and wife and our little long haired chihuahua. Chase is a photographer and multimedia visual artist. Red is a singer, songwriter and musician.
The Sony a7III is a great camera if you are looking to shot both video and digital photography. I recommend it. The 55mm zeiss is really an unbelievable lens. It’s incredibly sharp. It’ great. the Batis is amazing. I can’t pinpoint exactly why, but it makes everything look a level bigger. It has a cinematic feel. It’s also closer to the zeiss lens I use on my Contax G, for film photography. The Tamron works for when you need to zoom. It’s difficult to go around the world and try to get all of your shots with a 40 or 55. There’s a lot of other lenses that I would love to have, but these work for now.
It was a beautiful trip and we had a great time. The double rainbow was so epic. The sunsets for unbelievable time after time. We were just rolling through with no real plan and kept coming across such beautiful things. Our only goal was to get toCanada when we can and take have an adventure along the way.
Special thank you to Rim Shoals Resort in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. It was such a beautiful place to recharge, and the White River was AMAZING.

Being able to marvel at how time and nature alters the Earth’s topography is incredible. 7 days of exploring the native reservation of Havasupai and Utah’s Mighty 5 national parks was definitely was too short.
100+ miles hiked, 1,500 miles driven, 20 new friends, a sore back, and an experience I will never forget. If I’m still alive, hopefully when I visit again, Mother Earth will once again amaze me with new wonders.

I finally took a trip out to Zion National Park. It is so amazing. I recorded almost everything. This video is me driving through the park up to the Canyon Overlook trail. The rock formations are so beautiful. Near the end of the video, I drive through the longest tunnel ever. The Mt. Carmel tunnel is 1.1 miles long. I sped the video up 7 times.
I will be posting more of my adventures through the park over the next month. I hiked the Canyon Overlook Trail, Subway Trail, and Angels Landing. I can’t wait to go back and do The Narrows in spring.
