Zion National Park Accommodations, Hotels, Vacation Rentals & Lodging

Anchorage, Alaska has been really cold this year. I haven’t acclimated to the single digit to negative temperatures. I get even more concerned about my two babies outside in the cold weather. Just so happens, between Black Friday/Cyber Monday flight deals and air mileage points, we were able to get some super affordable tickets to Las Vegas, NV!

From the Las Vegas airport, we rented a car and drove over to Zion National Park in Utah. It was about a 3 hour drive. We had our winter camping gear packed in our suitcases and were excited to try winter camping in warmer weather!

Phil and I have never winter camped in a tent before, let alone with our babies. We actually stayed very warm through the night (thanks to the heater and our 4 season/mountaineering tent!).

Babywearing was well accepted by many hikers throughout Zion NP. We are surrounded by a very supportive babywearing community in Anchorage, AK and have been babywearing our children since they were a newborn. We were very humbled by the compliments we received.

One of our favorite comments came from two young gentlemen in their 20s. We journeyed Angel's Landing with them. At the summit, they approached us and said they wanted to be like us when they have kids. I am happy that we can continue to do the things we want, even with kids. It's just a bonus that we can inspire others along the way!
