27 July 2019 – I woke up at 5am to be the first person on Angels Landing and watch the sun rise! To be fair – the guys just behind me had to also jog about 6 miles in from Springdale, I had the head start from Zion Park Lodge! If you’re doing Angel’s Landing I highly recommend going early to beat the crowds. It made the ascent so much more enjoyable (and probably safer) having no one around, and the summit was incredibly peaceful. The descent was a lot more chaotic. I started from the Lodge at 5:20, reached the top at 6:30, descended at about 7:45 and reached the Valley floor at 8:45.
